Day 1-2 Skill Builder: Color Wheel
Students will learn how to create secondary and teritary colors using only the primary colors.
Day 3 Skill Builder: Mood Swatches
Students will pick 6 emotions from a list provided and create their own interpretation of the color.
Day 4-8 Main Project: Abstract Painting
Day 4-5: Students will choose a slip of paper out of a hat. Each paper has an emotion word & the definition on it. The students will brainstorm on 2 categories: Colors and Shapes. Next, they will create 2 Rough Drafts using their list of colors and shapes.
Day 6-7: Students will choose one of their concepts and lightly sketch it out onto the painting paper. Next, they will mix their colors and begin painting.
Day 8: Students will add any details and finish painting their composition before tuning it in for grading.
