Day 1-3 Skill Builders: Shades, Hues and Tints
Students will learn how to create shades, hues and tints using a primary color with black and white acrylic paint.
Day 4-5 Main Project: Jewel
Students will conduct research and find a high resolution image of jewel they want to paint.
Day 6-12 Main Project: Jewel
Students will measure out their image and draw out the jewel double/triple the original measurements onto painting paper. Next, they will identify how many values their image has and create a value card. Once they have recreated their value samples, they will label each section of the drawing using numbers to match the value card.
Day 13-20 Main Project: Jewel
Students will paint each section based off the value card until they have completed the painting.
