Day 1 Skill Builder: Watercolor Swatches
Students will learn how to create swatches using watercolors.
Day 2 Skill Builder: Creating Layers
Students will learn how to use creating layers using watercolors.
Day 3 Skill Builder: Shading a Sphere
Students will learn how to use shade a sphere using watercolors.
Day 4-7 Semi Project: Everyday Object
Students will use their knowledge of shading and observation skills to paint an everyday object of their choosing.
Day 8 Critique Day
Students will use today to reflect, give input and grow as an artist. Everyone will participate in a class critique giving constructive feedback to fellow students.
Good Example: "I think a red background will not help your foreground pop forward. Have you thought about using green or blue instead?"
Bad Example: "I don't know, I don't like. It looks confusing."
Day 9-20 Main Project: A Safe Place for Memories
Day 9-10: Students will brainstorm and research different types of objects and memories. Create 2 Rough Drafts of your composition.
Day 11: Finish your 2 Rough Drafts for your concept.
Day 12: Critique Day: present to the class your plans, including the list of colors you need to use. Make any alterations before you begin drawing out your painting.
Day 13: Get the final paper to start your composition.
Day 14 - 19: Work on your composition. Remember to incorporate details, textures, shadows, lighting, etc. Do not use flat shapes.
Day 20: Finish your composition and turn it in for grading.
